In 1934, Raymond Briggs was born in London. Father Christmas and The Snowman, two wildly popular children's books, were written by him. His other books are The Bear, Ug, Fungus the Bogeyman, When the Wind Blows, Ethel & Ernest, a biography of his parents, and his most recent work, Time for Lights Out, a word and picture meditation on aging.
